Celebrate Halloween with These ‘Spooktacular’ Trophy Ideas

October 31st is Halloween, which means it’s time for making your events fun-filled and spooky! You can celebrate with some friendly competition by doing a costume contest or a haunted house contest. If you’re still undecided about Halloween events or searching for ‘spooktacular’ Halloween trophies, here’s some help for your Halloween celebrations:

Halloween Scary Costume Awards
You can present awards for the costume contest in some categories like these:
● Scariest Costume
● Funniest Costume
● Best Couple’s Costume
● Best Child Costume
● Most Creative Costume

Haunted House Challenge Awards
You can also organize a haunted house contest where you’ll challenge individuals to go inside a thematically built haunted house with different fear-inducing decorations and “scare-actors” and see who can last the longest. You can think of various Halloween trophy ideas in this category as well.
Based on the different activities that you design when inside the haunted house, you can give out the Halloween trophies in these categories:

1. The Tomb Raider (for finding and reaching the deadliest tomb and digging candies out of it)
2. The Ghost Hunter (for knocking down the most number of skulls and skeleton decorations)
3. The Ghost Survivor (for simply staying inside for the longest duration)

Personalize Your Halloween Trophies
Giving out the most thematic or spooky-looking trophies will only enhance the joy of Halloween for their winners, and also for the spectators. The look and feel of the trophies can be made complete with a funny message engraved on it. The trophy provider can also provide you with unique message ideas and the text engraving service, all included.

Halloween-Themed Trophies
Whether you are planning a costume party, trick-or-treat, or house decoration contest, we have the perfect trophies to celebrate the winner and make your Halloween activities fun-filled and memorable. Each of our trophies is carefully inspected by our experts to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. Portable Trade Show Displays To Make Your Show Easier

Portability is one of the most important aspects to weigh when researching a new trade show display. If you have a small team of one or two people, and need to be able to easily transport or ship your display affordably, you’ll want to make sure that the display you’re purchasing is easy to move. While many modular displays such as XVline or Exhibitline are also portable, there are three highly portable displays to focus on if portability is important in your search.

Tension Fabric Displays
Easily one of the biggest innovations in trade show displays in years, tension fabric displays hit a sweet spot for many companies. They’re lightweight, portable, durable, and relatively inexpensive. Due to the lightweight aluminum frame, they can easily be setup and taken down by one person. Assembly is obviously even faster with two people.
The fabric graphics are vibrant due to the dye-sublimation printing process, and the stretch fabric is machine washable providing longevity to the visual. Because the fabric graphic is independent from the frame and relatively inexpensive to print, they’re also ideal for storing multiple graphics for use depending on what type of event you’re exhibiting at. Swapping out graphics allows your company to switch messages depending on the target audience you’re marketing. Also, since the fabric graphic slides over the frame similarly to a pillowcase over a pillow, it provides a professional and wrinkle-free visual.
The latest inventive evolution of the tension fabric display is the backlit version. Columns of LED lights hang from the aluminum frame providing consistent top-to-bottom, left-to-right illumination of the fabric graphic from within. The way the lights are hung from the frame provides a more dispersed lighting than many of the lightbox systems which only light the display graphic from the frame edges.
Here at MODdisplays, tension fabric displays are the most popular display systems that we produce year round.
Advantages of tension fabric trade show displays
? Machine-washable graphics: The polyester stretch fabric can simply be cleaned with soap and warm water in a home washing machine or can be taken to a drycleaner.
? Easily Exchange or Swap Graphics: Because the fabric graphics are independent of the frame, multiple graphics can be utilized to mix-and-match messages to target depending on time of year or event.
? Highly Portable: Nearly all tension fabric displays from MODdisplays come with a shipping case that converts into a counter, so the entire booth can pack down into an easy to wheel or ship case.
Pop-Up Displays
A practical solution for companies looking for a booth display with the absolutely fastest setup is a Pop-Up Display. Trade show displays such as 3D Snap and OneFabric are built on accordion-style frames where the graphic is stored while still attached. These systems quickly expand open to their intended size, then get latched into place on the backside. While they are fast to setup, some care must be taken into account to maintain its structure.
Again, if speed is your greatest pain point in searching for a trade show display, then a pop-up display is an ideal solution. Because of the way in which the graphic attaches to the frame and the way in which the graphic is stored, there is a tendency for this style of display to occasionally have puckers or wrinkles on the edges of the graphic. However, this is a trade-off for the ease of setup and takedown. One person can easily manage to transport, setup, and dismantle the display.
Banner Stand Walls
Perhaps the lowest tech yet most versatile option for portable trade show displays is the workhorse banner stand wall. It provides a quick solution for filling a standard 10’ x 10’ booth space while also doubling as an adaptable marketing tool outside of the event. Many companies will repurpose their trade show banners as signage in lobbies and atriums or reuse them for special events such as fundraisers, open houses, receptions, conferences, and conventions.
As individual banner stands, they can be easily packed down into nylon carrying bags for simple transport. Even with three banner stands to setup for a banner stand wall, one person can carry all three bags and setup the entire booth on their own within 5 minutes or much less if you’re working on a personal setup time record. Because of the sleek profile, the stands are easy to move around to optimize your booth space depending on foot traffic or your surrounding neighbors.
Regardless of the solution you choose for your next trade show booth, knowing that there’s a range of options for portable displays is key. Reach out to our sales department if you need assistance navigating the options available.

Buying and Selling a Firearm: Gun Shows

In the third part of our ongoing series on how to buy and sell a firearm, we will be discussing gun shows. Even if you’ve never been to a gun show, you probably have already heard a lot about them—from other gun owners, from friends and family, and maybe from the media. To some, “gun show” is a controversial word. In this article, we’ll cut through some of the rhetoric and misinformation and explain how sales at a gun show works.

Firstly, what is a gun show? The simple answer is that gun shows are a place for guns to be sold or bought, and where new gun owners can learn more about firearms. Gun shows are widely attended and draw in all types of gun owners, including those interested in firearms for defensive purposes, for hunting, shooting sports, recreation, or for their personal collection. These events are alive and vibrant with conversation, although a fair amount of visitors come just to get a glimpse of some rare or notable firearms on display. You’re not obliged to buy or sell anything at a gun show, but if you do, there are two types of sales: those that go through FFL dealers and private sellers.

We covered both those subjects in the previous two parts of this series:
? If you are unfamiliar with FFLs and the National Instant Background Check System, read more about it here.
? If you are unfamiliar with private sales, read more about it here

Despite what some may say, there is no such thing as a “gun show loophole.” Sales through FFL dealers and private transactions at a gun show function exactly the same as they would outside of a gun show. Everyone still has to comply with all federal, state, and local laws without exception. Gun control advocates who push for “closing the gun show loophole” are actually proposing to ban private sales entirely. This means expanding background checks to any sale or trade of a firearm, in some cases even involving gifts or temporarily borrowing a firearm. Could you imagine going to an FFL dealer to run a background check every time you wanted to borrow your brother’s rifle for deer season?

Gun control supporters say that “closing the loophole” would reduce crime, but in actuality, gun shows only account for a minuscule amount of the firearms used in gun crime. According to the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA), federal studies showed that less than one percent of inmates incarcerated in state prisons for gun crimes acquired their firearms at a gun show. The majority of firearms used came from theft, the black market, or straw purchasers. Also, consider the fact that any convicted felon who so much as touches a firearm at a gun show is already in violation of federal law. The same as it would be for your neighborhood gun shop.
That is what gun shows essentially are: a bigger gun shop with more options, more people, and more things to see or do. If you are familiar with how to sell or buy from an FFL dealer or in a private sale, you already know how to conduct business at a gun show. Some general tips to approaching a gun show is to do your research beforehand. Know what you want, bring more cash than you think you need—some vendors don’t accept or charge a premium for credit cards—and know the law. Most importantly, relax and have some fun.

Case Study: RSI Visuals

Just about every trade show is designed to showcase the newest technological advances in a certain industry, but nowhere is this more evident than I/ITSEC. Labeling itself as “the world’s largest modeling and training event,” 2019’s I/ITSEC featured more than 400 exhibitors, boasting technologies ranging from medical simulations and disaster planning to the Serious Games competition.
At I/ITSEC 2019, RSi Visuals showed off its state-of-the-art Level D image generation and projection technologies to the nearly 6,000 trade show visitors. And even with a few last-minute changes, Rockway Exhibits + Events helped RSi take its booth to the next level.
Client’s Goals
RSi wanted its 30×30 rental booth to highlight its new Visual Display Systems, as well as provide a semi-private meeting space while maintaining an open and inviting feel.
To help bring their vision to life, Rockway used pedestals for the miniature visual display systems and placed them around the lounging area. This allowed booth visitors to have more in-depth discussions while still keeping these display systems front and center. With lightweight Aluvision frames, push-fit fabric graphics, and sintra graphics, this booth had a clean, streamlined, and modern look that was simple to assemble and disassemble.
From concept to execution, RSi’s exhibit took around three months to complete. RSi was thrilled with the outcome and has already enlisted Rockway to prepare a 20×20 booth rental for another trade show in 2020.
Flexibility and Last-Minute Adjustments
Preparing for trade shows can present unforeseen challenges for exhibit builders and vendors alike. While Rockway and RSi had initially planned for a demonstration of RSi’s full-sized system at I/ITSEC, as the show drew near, RSi was unsure whether its larger visual system would be ready in time.
With this in mind, Rockway had prepared a back-up booth design that was anything but second-rate. By avoiding the potentially show-stopping scenario of a booth without its feature attraction, Rockway provided RSi with peace of mind that the show would go on—and with individual pedestals set up to display smaller visual display systems, this booth still fulfilled RSi’s desire to showcase its state-of-the-art technology.
